Truly

Thea July 30th, 2007

My colleague asked me to turn off the winamp when i played this song. Obviously, it left bitter memory for her. On the contrary, i like this song, especially when Lionel Richie sings it withhis sonorous voice.

Truly (by Lionel Richie)

Girl, tell me only this

That I’ll have your heart for always

And you want me by your side

Whispering the word that I’ll always love you  And forever I will be your lover And I know if you really care I will always be there Now I need to tell you this

There’s no other love like your love And I, as long as I live  I’ll give you all the joy My heart and soul can give

Let me hold you I need to have you near me And I feel with you in my arms

This love will last forever  Because I’m truly Truly in love with you girl

I’m truly head over wheels with your love

I need you, and with your love I’m free

And truly, you know you’re alright with me

Jakarta (An Unimportant Note of Me)

Thea July 23rd, 2007

I always ask myself why eventually I stay in Jakarta. I am still clueless if I will love this city, have a deep passion with it, and finally decide to live in this hell city!!

Jakarta, for me is a lover whom I can’t live with it and cant’ live without at the same time. It’s very difficult to choose whether to leave it or back in its arms. Many times, I have been being betrayed with its pollution, its criminality, and its traffic jam. Living in Jakarta, for me, is very time-consuming. Hmmm…I really miss my old lover then. Where I can go everywhere quickly, where no traffic jam, where the breezing air still fresh. But still, I stay in this city, doing my routine, and earning living. The last, I remember, is the ultimate reason why I stay here.  At the same time, Jakarta spoils me with its facilities. It offers great bookstore, amazing exhibitions, high tech-equipped cinemas, delicious food vendors (though quite expensive), places selling fancy things from the cheapest to the expensive one. However, I often feel fed up with its completeness. Very often, I miss the simplicity of my old lover. Jogja, where humbleness and care still exist.

Yesterday, was the start of campaign day of two candidates of Jakarta’s governor. I have no idea how one of them can dismantle the complexity of this city, full of its problems and difficulties. From where they want to start it? Let’s name the problems. Unemployment, criminality, pollution, massive flood, traffic jam, urbanism, etc. I don’t know how they can grow love and sense of belonging of Jakarta in its people, including me.

Oh my new lover, in this case I agree with people say about you” As cruel as step mother can be, still crueler is “mother city” or “ibu kota”. Sorry to say, I still love my old lover. And I want to back with it and live there for good.

Viva Indonesian Football!!!

Thea July 19th, 2007

Never in my life was I as excited as yesterday when I watched football game Indonesia vs South Korea directly in Gelora Bung Karno. Why? First, because I am not that football freak so I never got interested in watching soccer. Since yesterday was my first experience watching football in a “real” stadium, so I was very enthusiastic. Second, I was drifted in the wave of nationalism because of the Indonesian team’s performance which was good in the two previous games. Thus, I said okay when my boyfriend asked me to watch the death battle Indonesia vs South Korea, a team who was successfully reached the quarter final of World Cup 2002. And there we were, with two fifteen-thousand tickets, watching the game, where hopefully Indonesian team would win the ticket to the quarter final.
The match was very interesting. And so were the supporters around me. We screamed, we shouted together, performed wave-resembled-motions, and sung together, giving courage for Ponaryo Astaman and friends. Too bad, in the 33rd minute, Korean team successfully attacked Indonesian goal. All of us spontaneously screamed and said “No”!.
What I found different between watching the match directly from watching in the TV was the enthusiasm. Just like when Korean made one goal, shortly after that Indonesian supporters sung giving new spirit for Indonesian team.
“Aaaghhhh”…”No” were repeatedly said when Korean team tried to offend Indonesia defense. On the other hand, we screamed “C’mon”…”Go ahead” and other giving-support shouts when Indonesia stroke back Korean.
Though last night performance was not as excellent as those played against Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, Indonesian team had done a great play. Till the end of the game, we couldn’t make any goal. Anyhow, the loss was still sweet. And I am still proud of them.
Like Wimar said in his short message to me after the game’ “Terhormat Sekali”.
And I replied to him, “Hopefully this is marking Indonesian Football Awakeness”.

Delfin dan Mummy

Thea July 13th, 2007

This happy moment comes from my senior in HI-UGM. Her name is Rizka. I call her Mbak Rizka. She’s smart and beautiful. After graduating from colleague, she worked as journalist in private television. Then she flied away to the other continent, accordingly Europe where she worked in BBC London for two years. I never met her eversince.

Now, she’s married and got scholarship in communication study in University of Sydney. Two months ago, i knew that she’s already delivered a baby. A new-born baby boy has arrived in her world. His name is Delfin Sydney Tsalasi. You can visit him at www.delfin.tsalasi.com.

Frankly, I am jealous with her. She’s got everything and her dream in a very young age. Worldwide experience, opportunity to further study, marriage life and now a baby. In a moment with my best friend who’s studying in OZ, i ever moaned. “Why I couldn’t get everything, Wip?”.” Why there’s a woman who can get everything, career and love at once”. Wipi said,” Be thankful of what you got coz many people want to be at your position but they are unlucky not to have that one”.

Wipi…i want to have my own Delfin someday…..

7-7-07

Thea July 11th, 2007

Nothing to tell you about my last trip to Denpasar but the overloading job, combined with my unfit body, really drove me exhausted. But in the Saturday morning, I was rushed. I chose to have my breakfast in the airplane, not in the hotel, so I could arrive to Jogja 8 AM. It was for my best friend, Titi, who was married at 7-7-2007. Titi, has picked 7-7-2007, as her special date. 7-7-2007 was a date when she decided to leave her single matters. A moment when she heard her halve pledged that he would take care of her, no matter what, regardless anything.

I am happy for your dear. I know it hasn’t been such easy for you to be able in this way. Friction, resistance, or whatever it was, didn’t discourage you from moving forward with your choice. Once you ever asked and wondered before this whether you might have a husband who would understand and accept you no matter what, we hope, you may find in him.  Once again, congarts babe!!!

Good Food, Good Company

Thea July 3rd, 2007

When you want to find and eat various delicious food in one place, you have to go to Festival Jajanan Bango. Last Saturday Ogi and I went to Festival Jajanan Bango in Pintu 1 Senayan. For you who missed it, you have to wait for the next festival. I’m not really sure, but I guess there were approximately 50 food sellers. I came there at 6 PM and there were many people who had same interest with us, hunting delicious food.
Among the crowd, we started looking for the food. Our first target was sate. We went toward the sate seller where we found a very long queue waiting for the sate. Sure we wouldn’t be trapped in such long queue and then we moved to another target. Sop Buntut Bu Samino, there where we moved on. This Sop Buntut /warung” is very popular, especially among Indonesian athletes as it’s located around Senayan. But the most ultimate factor because it’s delicious. It was my first time tasting Sop Buntut Samino. And so did Ogi. But we were in same opinion that it was so yummy. Delicioso..hmmmm.

We were full but still on fire to try another food. The next food to try was Bakmi Jawa Cut Mutia. But, we decided buying only a portion of it. Having bought Bakmi, we queued for Tempe Mendoan and Tahu Slawi. Phewwww…just for two tempe and two tahu, Ogi and me had to wait for about one hour. ck..ck…but it was worthy as the food we bought were scrumptious. Hmmm… good food, good company. We were satisfied when we went home, and of course very fullJ. The diet was ruined for a while…
