Our New Castle

Thea May 27th, 2008

Finally, we find our new house. It was found not in purpose. In Tuesday morning, Ogi passed a house with a “For rent” tag in the wall. And then, we called the number in the tag and asked further about the house’s specification.

After listening to the house owner explanation, we made an appointment to have a look at the house. In the afternoon, we went there and met a nice elderly couple who owns the house.

The house is just like what we look for. A quite large house with two bed rooms, a living room, a family room, kitchen and a garage. The neighborhood is nice. The water is clean. and the most important, the price is so friendly, suitable for our budget.

I believe that hunting a home is like looking for the Mr or Ms. Right. Need extra patience:p. Maybe the fortune star is shining above us. We get new house without exhausting efforts and with the quite cheap price. I just can’t wait my time managing the house and cooking in my lovely kitchen:)

We manage to move within months ahead, just one month before our wedding. Should you have a chance, please have a visit to our new small lovely castle at Pasar Minggu area. We’ll be ready with a cup of hot tea for you:)

Where U Lead I Will Follow

Thea May 23rd, 2008

This song is memorable. Besides I really love the serial ( I am a big fan of Gilmore Girls) and admire the stars, the lyric of the theme song is very lovely. And of course, related to me? Do you agree??

Wanting you the way I do
I only want to be with you
And I would go to the ends of the earth
Cause, darling, to me that’s you’re worth

Where you lead, I will follow
Anywhere that you tell me to
If you need, you need me to be with you
I will follow where you lead

If you’re out on the road
Feeling lonely, and so cold
All you have to do is call my name
And I’ll be there on the next train

Where you lead, I will follow
Anywhere that you tell me to
If you need, you need me to be with you
I will follow where you lead

I always wanted a real home with flowers on the windowsill
But if you want to live in New York City, honey, you know I will
I never thought I could get satisfaction from just one man
But if anyone can keep me happy, you’re the one who can

And where you lead, I will follow
Anywhere that you tell me to
If you need, you need me to be with you
I will follow where you lead

Being 25

Thea May 18th, 2008

It’s just like an ordinary day. No celebration, just messages and calls from parents, relatives and friends congratulating me for being 25 years old. Yes, I am 25 years old now.

Unlike last year, when I was at Jogja and convened some friends to have a simple lunch at my home, today, nothing’s special. I just woke late in the morning, spent almost half of the day hunting for home for me and Ogi. Then, both of us met Wimar and Mbak Atun at PIM, afterward as I promised to Ogi, we went to Caza Suki.

Being 25 and so what? What have I had so far? Reflecting back, I think I have so many things that I must thank God that I have.

I have a job. I can be self-sufficient. I can afford things my own.

I have a great parents. I have supportive family. Our family finally moves to a much better home sweet home. My family and I have no serious troubles with healthy. I was proposed by a really nice guy:)

I have travelled to places where I have never been before, witnessing how beautiful other cultures are.

I have abundant very nice friends. I could attend my best friends’ weddings. I could experience all of us processing to be a much better person and the most beautiful one is to be the part of their success and achievement.

Another year ahead to go through. I wish I can make it better. Processing makes perfect:)

After Two Years

Thea May 15th, 2008

15 May, two years ago, I joined officially with Telkomsel.

How do I feel after two-year working? So far, I’m satisfied with my work here. I thought it would be a completely different world for me.

It is, as I jumped into telecommunication field, a new one for me. Just give you a simple reminiscence when I was clueless about the terms tow years ago. HLR, VLR, TAP IN , TAP Out, just few to mention.

It isn’t as what I learned at the college is useful. Picking here and there from Diplomacy course, Strategy course or Negotiation and Conflict Resolution course, I think that I am enough” equipped” to forge my work here.

A senior colleague tells me that in many occasions, we should be a “diplomat” representing Telkomsel. In several meetings and conferences, I become the ambassador for  my company in front of foreign operators. It’s nice and I love it.

And since a month ago, I have been assigned as the new coordinator of new fields which of course requires more efforts and dedication. I am excited, as a younger I love to have more challenges as it will be very helpful to sharpen my skill (hey..can I still consider myself as a younger if within a days I will be 25 years old?!?!?)

Today, it’s been two years and it means that I will have salary increment. Alhamdulillah:)

Checking the Envelope; What’s your Opinion??!?!?!

Thea May 14th, 2008

To avoid tye possibility of gratification, the Anti Corruption Commission checkec each of submitted envelope in the wedding of the People’s Consultative Speaker, Hidayat Nur Wahid. What a movement!!

As the host, Hidayat was welcomed to the action and maybe he wished it can be a good figure reflecting his support toward the corruption eradication. However, to some people, such action is too much, quoting the statement of the Speaker of Partai Indonesia Sejahtera of North Sumatera. According to him, to give gifts for groom and bride is a vested culture of Indonesian.

Any other opinion? Do u think  it’s too much or not???

Traveller Wanna-Be:D

Thea May 8th, 2008

Still related to my last posting, here are some quotes for you who dreams to travel

The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only page (St. Augustine)

When preparing to travel, lay out all your clothes all your money. Then take half the clothes and twice the money (Susan Heller)

A good traveler has no fix plans, and is not intent on arriving (Lao Tzu)

The traveller was active; he went strenuosly in search of people, of adventure, of experience. The tourist is passive; he expects interesting things to happen to him. He goes “sight-seeing.’ (Daniel J. Boorstin)

Travellers never think that they are the foreigners (Mason Cooley)

I have found out that there ain’t no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them (Mark Twain)

To travel is to discover that everyone is wrong about other countries (Aldous Huxley)

Most travel is best of all in the anticipation or the remembering; the reality has more to do with losing your luggage (Regina Nadelson)

I found these quotes in Chic Magazine (No.10, 7-21 May 2008, page 162)

Earn Living at Jogja; I Wish I Can

Thea May 7th, 2008

Working at a big company at Jakarta indoubtedly offers me many challenges, experiences and benefits at once. Hence, I am so grateful to have this opportunity. Eversince I joined this company two years ago, I have been trying to utilize every opportunity while keeping wishing that I can work at Jogja sometimes. I remember two years ago, I was so reluctant working in this big city. However, destiny brought me here.

I have several considerations why I still insist staying at Jogja and earning living there. First, Jogja is very nice city, less far hectic than Jakarta and friendly. Then, I plan to stay there with a new family and raise children at a city in where you can find schools and universities with good facilities.

Okay, I’m going to marry and manage that within specified time I wish I can be assigned working in Jogja-based office. I know it will be tough. Moreover, now I am appointed to be the new coordinator of two new areas at once. Nevertheless, I never stop wishing. Thank God, my husband to-be understands my position and he agrees to accompany me at Jakarta. Lucky me!!!

Two days ago, I chatted with him, talking about our plan in the future. I told him much about my new job, how good I can adopt with it and how can I cope the difficulties I face. At the end, the topic about job terminated, again, at our future life. Surprisingly he told me…

Hun, it’s all up to you. I will stay with you at Jakarta until you feel okay moving at Jogja and satisfied with your work here.

See..tell me how can’t I say that I couldn’t be luckier. Thanks dear:)
